Volunteer role

Afghan Tea Party Volunteer

Our annual Tea Party needs many hands — general labor, audio-visual, greeting guests, setting up booths, and staffing tables. Help us put on San Diego's most welcoming Afghan gathering.

About the role

The Afghan Tea Party — also known as the LAND program — is the House of Afghanistan's flagship annual gathering, held each August at Balboa Park. It is an afternoon of Afghan hospitality, food, music, poetry, storytelling, and dance, open to the entire San Diego community.

We need many hands to make it happen. Volunteers may also be eligible for service-hour verification (including high school students).

Ideal for: anyone who loves Afghan culture and wants to help create a memorable experience for the community.
