Once a month we open the Hall of Nations for the whole day — a casual place to meet the house, ask questions, and just talk. This time it's for the kids: Farsi immersion play from 1 to 3, then a movie on the big projector from 3 to 5.
About one weekend a month, the House of Afghanistan opens the Hall of Nations for the whole day — a casual place to meet us, ask questions, and just talk.
If you're Afghan and want to hang out, come by. If you've never met us, come by too. We try to make each day worth showing up for — not just a table and a handshake. This time, it's for the kids.
No desks, no papers, no homework — just play, in Farsi. Games and activities where the language sneaks in while they play. Ages 4 and up, and big kids are welcome too.
One note: this is not a daycare. Parents stay. Bringing little ones? Plan to play along — and if you'd like to help run the games, the more parents the better.
Then the lights go down and the big projector comes on — a film for everyone, kids and grown-ups alike.
Free to attend, but space is limited — please RSVP. See you Sunday.
